What do these words mean?
- EEG
- A recording of electrical activity from the brain, taken with sensors on the head.
- Channel
- One sensor’s signal. Each row on the map is one channel.
- Window
- A short slice of time (5 seconds here). Each square on the map is one channel in one window.
- Lost contact / flat line
- The sensor stopped touching the skin, so the signal went dead flat.
- Electrical hum
- Interference from mains power or a bad connection. It looks like a thick, fuzzy band instead of a line.
- Spikes and swings
- Sudden jumps, usually from movement or a loose headband.
- Rule
- A condition you set, like “flag any window where the signal goes flat for more than half of it”.
